TRIP #2 - BALTIMORE TO ST. MICHAELS

JULY 5 - 9

A voyage of contrasts, this trip will begin in Baltimore - one of America’s great urban seaports - and conclude in St. Michaels, one of the most rural tidewater areas of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The first day will see SULTANA sail out of Baltimore, past Fort McHenry and the iconic Sparrow’s Point foundry and follow the winds either across the Chesapeake Bay to one of several creeks on the Eastern Shore or, alternately, south to Gibson Island and the Magothy River. After two days exploring the upper Bay, SULTANA will sail under the Bay Bridge and overnight in Annapolis where you will have a chance to explore “America’s Sailing Capital.” On Thursday morning SULTANA will sail south from Annapolis, up “Eastern Bay,” and into the scenic Wye River where you will go ashore to explore historic Wye Island. The trip will conclude Friday with a sail up the Miles River to St. Michaels and a tour (time permitting) of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
