TRIP #4 - SOLOMONS TO ANNAPOLIS

JULY 19 - 23

Beginning in Solomons and ending in Annapolis, this trip offers some incredible opportunities for open water sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Your trip will begin at the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons where you will be introduced to your fellow crew and quickly set out on a 25-mile sail out of the mouth of the Patuxent River and across the Chesapeake to James Island on the Little Choptank River. For the next two days you will explore the Choptank and its tributaries - some of the most interesting and diverse waters found anywhere on the Chesapeake Bay. Following an overnight stop at the 18th century port of Oxford on Wednesday, SULTANA will sail out of the Choptank River on Thursday and make her way north past Poplar Island towards Annapolis. You will spend the final day of your trip sailing into and exploring one of the most famous sailing destinations in the world - Annapolis, Maryland.
