CAPTAIN JOHN SMITH FOUR HUNDRED PROJECT

In the summer of 2007, Sultana Projects undertook a 121-day, 1,500 mile reenactment of John Smith’s 1608 Chesapeake voyage known as the Captain John Smith Four Hundred Project. Traveling and living aboard Sultana’s replica of John Smith’s shallop, a crew of 12 men and women voyaged the Chesapeake, participating in educational festivals in 28 cities and towns where they were seen by more than 250,000 people.
