Teacher Benefits
Teachers participating in the “Roots of a Nation” Teaching American History Initiative will receive several benefits, including:
STIPENDS: Each teacher will receive a $100 per day stipend for all programs. Meals and program program transportation are also generally provided.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CREDITS (CPDs): Teachers will receive CPD credits for most “Roots of a Nation” seminars. Seminar instructors will provide additional information to participating teachers regarding CPD credits.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER EXPENSES: Generally, the “Roots of a Nation” Teaching American History Initiative will cover any reasonable substitute teacher expenses. Such payments must be arranged in advance and will be made directly to the teacher’s school district.
