Adult & Teacher Programs

In addition to working with school-aged students, Sultana provides educational experiences for college students, teachers and a variety of adult groups. As with all of Sultana's educational programs, our programs for adults focus primarily on the history and natural environment of the Chesapeake Bay. During a typical sail, passengers begin their journey by assisting crew members with raising sails. For the remainder of the program, participants can steer the ship, explore the crew quarters, listen to brief lectures pertaining to Sultana's fascinating history, or relax and enjoy a beautiful day of sailing on the Chesapeake. Sultana's adult programs last from two to five hours, depending on the needs of the group.

Sultana also provides specialized teacher training programs in conjunction with the Maryland State Department of Education.
